The Reactable was the first big project developed by Music Technology group at the Pompeu Fabra university in Barcelona, which at this time was integrated by Sergi Jordà, Günter Geiger, Martin Kaltenbrunner and Marcos Alonso. The project started in February 2003, with the ambitious goal of developing the best computer-based musical instrument we could imagine, without being necessarily constrained by any predefined technology. In that sense, the Reactable really started from a concept, and not from a technology. First we decided what to do, and later we discovered how to do it. The completion of all the technologies needed for the correct conclusion of the project (such as the tracking system reacTIVision), came luckily all along the Reactable's development process.

Reactable Live! is the revolutionary musical instrument that turns music making and performing music into a tangible and visual experience. The different sound generation and manipulation modules, which are real physical objects, permit infinite flexibility and control in musical expression.

The Reactable mobile application features an audio and graphics engine based on the real Reactable, and takes full advantage of the possibilities of multi-touch screens to bring the playful and intuitive user interface of the Reactable to mobile devices. It is the perfect tool for live music performance, it features a complete set of filters and effects, sequencers and different types of sound generation modules.

There is a sinusoidal wave, to filtered I can change the wave form, I am going to pally filter, this is a filter bass pass, high pass and here I can control the resonance frequency. Also there are modulators, Low frequency oscillator (LFO), for example here I got a LFO sine, if I applied to the filter I can control the frequency and the amplitude or applied here. Also has sample and hold and I can chaining effects.
